A former international rugby player who proudly represented Portugal, Mike was born in South Africa but carries strong Portuguese roots through his father's side. His vision is clear: to help grow Portuguese rugby by creating meaningful sponsorship opportunities, building wider visibility for the nation's talent, and connecting communities through shared purpose.

The man behind the original vision that helped bring Portugal World Legends to life. What started as a simple idea bringing a South African Legends side to Portugal to face a team of Portuguese internationals from the iconic 2007 World Cup has now grown into a movement. A former PE teacher raised in South Africa, Lorne later made Portugal his home, dedicating years to developing young people both on and off the field.
